Lovely stay at the Windsor Trooper. Conveniently, our room which was a converted stables, was located right next to the car park, so it was easy to clean out the absolute junk pit that our little black Golf had become over the 12 days of traveling.
We drove through 4 countries and travelled a total of 3677kms, up hill and down dale - that was quite a ROAD TRIP! and we LOVED it!
We thought we would be too early to hand in the car but the supposed 40 minute trip into London took an hour and a half. That done, it was a two minute walk down the street to the Magnificent Russell Hotel opposite a park. What a luxury! short stop in our lovely room then we walked up to Covent Gardens where we had a spot of lunch then a look around the shops and stalls. We got on the tube and went to 221B Baker Street for a whip though the Sherlock Holmes Museum. Interesting snapshot of a Victorian House. Then it was off to the Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. That was fantastic we both loved it. Back on the tube. We have come to the conclusion that they keep it unnaturally warm to keep that many people docile. Another great day looking forward to British Museum tomorrow. Maree
