After a little Celtic shopping we had a look at Holyrood Castle. I have coined a new photography term 'Drive by Shooting' I don't think it will catch on in the USA but it certainly describes what I've been doing here! The further north we went the cooler it got, much to our relief. First we set our sights on the town of Braemar taking photos of Michelle in front of the sign in the rain and wind, see attached. Up up up we drove, right over the magnificent highlands. What scenery! One minute it would be bare mountains with scrub heather the next we'd come into places. That looked like rainforest. Here and there are little cottages perched on the sides of hills with sheep dotted around them. Sheep which incidentally occasionally wander onto the road just for shits and giggles. We did a drive by of Balmoral Castle, can't go in this time of year. Finally after driving through country where they got the phrase 'up hill and down dale' we got to Inverness drove through had a look see and then a little further on to The Loch Ness Clansmen Hotel, and I'm sitting in the dining room with Michelle about to eat haggis, overlooking the loch and we are having a well deserved drink admiring the choppy dark waters, looking for a sign of Nessy. A few more drinks and maybe we'll see her!
