Farewell to France

Thursday, we set off to the station to catch the Eurostar back to London. I'm following Michelle around like a duckling while she navigates the the enormous station like an old hand.
No problems we're back in England before we know it and we pop up from the underground about 200 metres from the car rental place. What do you know, instead of a ford we get a black golf, so Michelle feels right at home. You have to pay a ten pound congestion tax if you drive in the middle of London and I'm here to tell you that it doesn't seem to be working. Took us a while to get out but we were soon on the open road (M40) freeway. So green and lush with the Autumn leaves just starting to turn. We got to our destination the Lambert Arms near Oxford, via the GPS,an invaluable little device,  at about 4pm so we set off to look at some of the local towns. Gorgeous little villages where the shops or houses are sitting right on the edge of the road and and everything is just so cute. You'd love it Madds. I have noticed that the English love to toot their car horns and frequently we are the cause, but there is just so much to see! eventually we ended up in a village called Thame and shared some fish and chips. I had ordered first but when we saw the size of the serve we decided to share, and still couldn't  finish it. Another lovely day made even better because we could give our feet a rest.
